Join The Spectroscopy SiteRing

You can join the Spectroscopy SiteRing quickly and easily by following these steps:

Step 1: go to the SiteRing Panel by clicking on Up. Click on the Join button and you will be sent to the Join page for the Ring.

Step 2: Fill out the form with the required information on the Join Page and click on the 'Submit Your Site' button at the bottom of the form. Your application to Join the SiteRing will be sent to the Webmaster of the Ring.

Step 3: Once your membership application is approved by the SiteRing you will receive an email with the membership details you will need to add the SiteRing Panel code, for the Ring, to your own webpages.

Step 4: Follow the instructions below.

Add The SiteRing Panel To Your Webpage

Step 1: You will receive the code you need for the Ring when you apply to join the SiteRing. See above.

Step 2: Copy the special copy/paste code below and Paste the code onto your own webpage.

Step 3: In the email containing the membership details that you will receive from the SiteRing, you will be given a 'SiteID Number'. You must insert this special Number into specific places within the new code you copied and pasted onto your webpage.

The code you pasted will have 5 lines of code that look like this:

   http://pubXX.bravenet.com/sitering/nav.php?usernum=12345678
   &action=join&siteid=[SiteID]

In EACH of the 5 lines of code that have the word [SiteID]. Replace the [SiteID] with the SiteID Number you were sent in email by the Ring owner.

For example, if the siteID Number sent to you in email is 12345 then you should replace the [SiteID] with 12345, like this:

   http://pubXX.bravenet.com/sitering/nav.php?usernum=12345678
   &action=join&siteid=12345

Make sure you add your special SiteID Number to ALL 5 of the lines of code that require it. (And take out the [] brackets) Do NOT alter the code in any other way!

Step 4: The SiteRing Panel used by the Ring you joined may need special graphics. You will need to download those images from below, and upload them to your own web server.

Step 5: Edit the Panel Code in four areas:

• Where you see [put your email address here] - type in your email address
• Where you see [put your name here] - type in your name
• Where you see usernum=961430225 — do not change that
• Make sure the link to the images are correct to pull the images from your site.

Step 6: Save your webpage once you have made all the correct changes, upload the SiteRing Panel graphics and upload your page to your webserver. It should look like this:

Step 7: You will not see your site in the ring until you have been approved.
You will be notified by email once you are approved.
